Mercedes-Benz MobileKids thrills kids in Penang

The best way to educate young children is to make the learning process exciting, and that is exactly the aim of the Mercedes-Benz Malaysia MobileKids' road safety campaign. Based on the success of the previous five MobileKids campaigns held in the Klang Valley, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia decided to take the campaign to Penang this year. Held recently in Queensbay Mall, MobileKids 2009 saw some 1600 visitors participate in a host of activities designed to teach and demonstrate the importance of road safety awareness.

Daimler supports virtual conference

Climate 2009 is a conference concerned with climate change, held from 2nd to 6th November 2009 exclusively on the internet. The conference introduces participants to the latest findings of scientific research on climate change and showcases projects and initiatives being undertaken in both industrialised and developing countries.

Climate 2009 focuses on the economic, social and political aspects of climate change; it aims at stimulating the discussion about challenges and chances related to this topic and will encourage networking among participants in order to catalyse new projects.

Participating in the conference is free of charge. After the start of the conference on 2nd November, papers can be viewed, directly commented and discussed in public. Moreover, Climate 2009 offers several exciting features, such as podcasts, in which scientists present their papers. Special discussion fora and chat rooms will provide direct interaction with the participating scientists. Video-clips from the patrons and chair of the conference will also be uploaded.

Conference chair is owned by the Research and Transfer Centre Applications of Life Sciences of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, headed by Professor Walter Leal. Among the patrons of the conference is the secretary general of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), Dr. Michel Jarraud. Renowned partners of Climate 2009 are the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the German Association for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). Daimler and KlimaINVEST are premium partners of the conference.

The MobileKids tour 2008 in Rheinland-Pfalz

Following their successful MobileKids tours through Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, TiM and the two Nimbols Urp and Neema travelled through Rhineland-Palatinate. Patron of the tour was the Rhineland-Palatinate minister for education of that federal state, Doris Ahnen.

The MobileKids Tour visited 28 primary and support schools that had been selected from all the applicants: Playful learning was used to teach the knowledge and proficiency required to act safely in road traffic, thus increasing the vigilance of the children and training their social skills when dealing with others.
