MobileKids at the Road Safety Day in Stuttgart

Absätze

Under the familiar motto "TAKE CARE IN TRAFFIC", there was a great deal on offer for children and adults at this year's event on 19 May. As well as a colourful programme of stage events, there was lots to discover in three areas around Stuttgart's Schlossplatz:

The MobileKids road-safety school had set up its driving circuit in the practical participation area. Children were not only able to demonstrate their skills in road traffic, but also obtain their own children's driving licence by answering questions correctly. Directly adjacent to this were circuits for bicycles, Kettcars and Segways to try out.

Simulators were the great attraction in the traffic technology area. Children were able to enjoy their first experiences in a car or on a motorcycle, or be shaken up in the rollover simulator. A third area was devoted to "Road safety for all": there were numerous stands providing up-to-date information on bicycle safety and theft protection, a perception and reaction test, information about cycling helmets, child seats and much more. MobileKids was also present with an information stand.

All primary schools in Stuttgart were invited to the 25th Safety Day. On the day all primary school children were able to use the city's public transport system to travel to Schlossplatz and back home free of charge.

The state of Baden-Württemberg has celebrated its Safety Day since 1992, to make its roads and pathways safer. For 25 years, visitors have been able to enjoy experiences, technical simulators and numerous information stands to find out about the latest prevention offerings and safety concepts. And naturally there is plenty of fun to had each year as well!
