School route planner

You're almost there. Can you already see the silver safety vest shining? Naturally this award is not given for nothing.

At this point you'll need to make more effort than ever before in this training. If it gets too difficult, you can therefore ask your parents for help. So let's get to work planning a safe route to school using a digital safety map.

Preparation

You need information to get to school safely. Grab a pen and paper and write down everything you need to know. What is the name of your school? Do you know the street it's on? And where do you live? Once you've found out everything and written it down, move on.

From A to B

It's best to open one of the many available online map services in a separate tab and click on the route planner there. But be careful, just take a quick look around and then come back, because there's more to come here.

Quite a lot going on on the map, isn't it? But don't worry, we'll figure it out together and after that you'll be a real expert. Now let's find out where your school and home are located. Enter the address of your home as the starting point and the name of your school as the destination. The website will then suggest a possible route. Caution: The first route is often the one for drivers, but most of the time a route for pedestrians is suggested as well. Found everything?

Let's do some planning

Now you can see where your home is on the map, and where your school is, and which route you need to take to cover the distance as quickly as possible. However, as we know, the fastest way is not necessarily the safest. Therefore, ask your parents to help you print out the map. Now you can use a colored pencil to draw in the route you usually walk or drive. Also make sure that you mark the places where you have to be especially careful with a different color. This way you can be sure that you won't forget them in the future. Maybe your parents have a tip or two for you.

Managed everything? Super! Now all that remains is the All-In Quiz. Now you've got this far, we're sure the questions must be easy for you.
